1.
At the entrance to the tomb stands its King. Ready to shed majestic garb for naked human flesh. Beckoned to its shrouded halls by His own voice. Prepared for the rage of kings and the worship of lowly men. Strips of cloth will replace kingly robes. The feed of the beasts He made to be His humble bed. Angels will herald Him. Men will scream for His death. The death of their King.
2.
Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors… …that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is He, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty – He is the King of glory. (PSALM 24:7-10)
3.
Thy strong word did cleave the darkness; At thy speaking it was done. For created light we thank thee while thine ordered seasons run. (Refrain) Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise to thee who light dost send! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia without end! Lo, on those who dwelt in darkness; Dark as night and deep as death, broke the light of thy salvation, breathed thine own life-giving breath. (Refrain) Thy strong Word bespeaks us righteous; Bright with thine own holiness, glorious now, we press toward glory, and our lives our hopes confess. (Refrain) From the cross thy wisdom shining breaketh forth in conqu'ring might; From the cross forever beameth all thy bright redeeming light. (Refrain) Give us lips to sing thy glory, tongues thy mercy to proclaim, throats to shout the hope that fills us, mouths to speak thy holy name. Alleluia! Alleluia! May the light which thou dost send fill our songs with alleluias, alleluias without end! God the Father, light-creator, to thee laud and honor be. To thee Light from Light begotten, praise be sung eternally. Holy Spirit, light-revealer, glory, glory be to thee. Mortals, angels, now and ever praise the holy Trinity!
4.
Men from the east sojourn with but a star to guide them. The light of which would mark the King of kings. Come forth from eternity. God made man. Lux de luce. Born of flesh to bring flesh to God. Lamb and King in One. God of God. Light of Light. Darkness flees.
5.
Mystery weds simplicity at the Passover table. Mere hours before the Sacrifice. The Paschal Lamb gives freely of Himself. Take and eat. Take and drink. Body, blood, bread and wine, truly present. Remission of sin. A feast for the ungraceful. Sustenance for the unworthy. Bread, body, wine, blood… …Life.
6.
Weep not for me, said God. Weep for yourselves and your children… said God. His adopted mother pierced at the foot of the rood. His undeserved agony endured on the same. Crushed by sin and His Father’s wrath. Broken. Flatlined. A lovely death. For the unlovable.
7.
A godly Corpse wrapped in a common shroud. Laid within a tomb of wealth. A temporary deicide. Vivified. A victory parade in hell. An early morn and He would rise. Bodily. Truly. Thanatos crushed. The tomb’s sting gone. The final foe swallowed up in victory. A beating heart of perfect love the only funeral hymn… …for the shroud.
8.
Efficacious 05:02
The Lamb who had been slain, surrounded by a crowd. Before He would ascend, enveloped in a cloud. Instructions to His Church were given at that hour. To baptize in His name, a sacrament with power. His servant Peter wrote that this baptism saves. The water and the Word together making faith. Both young and old alike are grafted in the Vine. Through efficacious means, bid by the Divine.
9.
Reformation. A once tortured servant of Christ, now quickened in his legalistic crypt. Set free through a study of the empowered Writ. Reconnected to baptismal grace through the bloodied One. Heaven’s door thrown open wide through the rolled away stone. Rome would hate him. So what?
10.
A look ahead at the end of the Church Year. The Great Day of Christ. The dead will rise from sea and ground. For the goats, horrors penned. For the sheep, a blessed end. Come forth, O corpse, from the cursed ground. Be made perfect. Rejoin your soul. Be with the Lamb who had been slain. For eternity.
11.
The will of He who reigns. No gods but Him. Revere His Name. Honor His Word. Call your Mom and dad. Do not Cain. Do not David. Tell the truth. Be content with what He gives. Yet we fail to obey. We revile to see who we really are, rotted through and through. Desperate, we repent and we beg. And He hears. He always hears.

about

This album explores a more downtempo death metal style with less of the doom influences of "Ego Sum Papa." It is more melodic with more concise songs. The plan for the lyrical content is to explore the historical Church Year (from Advent to End Times) and what the significance is for the Church on earth.
